Properly Sized, Backup-Equipped, Built to Run for a Decade
The single most important fact about a sump pump is this: when you need it, you need it to work. There is no second chance. That's why Kwikfit treats sump pump work as a planning exercise, not a parts-replacement transaction. We size pumps to the actual hydraulic load of your home in Friedens, PA. We install backup systems matched to your power and water configuration.
Every job begins with a load assessment, not a sales pitch.
Full system installation with proper basin, discharge line, and dedicated power for new or unfinished basements.
Replace aging or failed units with properly matched pumps before failure occurs.
Diagnose and repair short-cycling, continuous running, failure to activate, and more.
Pit cleaning, float testing, discharge verification, and check valve inspection.
Most reliable backup for homes with municipal water — runs without electricity.
High-capacity AGM battery backups with alarms for well water homes.
Water enters the soil around your foundation... channeled to the sump pit. The float activates the pump which discharges water safely away.
The most common failure points: float switches, discharge line freezing, check valves, debris in the pit, and motor burnout.
Oversizing causes short-cycling and early failure
"A correctly sized system runs cycles you barely notice. An incorrectly sized one runs constantly or barely at all."
"A new pump will last 15 to 20 years."
Realistic range is 7–10 years with good maintenance.
"I don't need backup — my power doesn't go out often."
Storms cause both flooding and power loss simultaneously.
"If the pump is running, it's working."
Failed check valves or clogged lines can make it ineffective.
"Installed a primary pump with water-powered backup... Basement stayed dry during a nine-hour outage."
— Patricia D., Friedens
"The tech talked me out of the expensive option... Honest is the right word."
— Greg S., Friedens, PA
"Annual maintenance found a worn check valve... prevented a major failure."
— Linda C., Friedens
Sediment and debris shorten motor life. Annual cleaning is quick and highly effective.
Clogs, ice, or damage prevent water from leaving the property.
Most common failure point. Replace every 5–7 years preventively.
Age over seven years, short-cycling, unusual noise, visible rust, or failed activation during testing.
If a flooded basement would be a serious financial or health problem, yes.
Away from the foundation — far enough that it doesn't return through the foundation drain.
Yes. We assess feasibility on-site before quoting.
A 30-minute on-site assessment tells you exactly what condition your system is in.
